IT'S FINISHED!! (Mostly)

Here's a couple of outside shots. The addition starts about where the Norfolk Pine is on the front porch if you can see that. That Pine is in the same spot in some of the "before" photos in earlier posts.

New kitchen! Ceiling is opened up, new appliances. Deer antler drawer and cabinet knobs if you can see them...

Auvye Burch, Cypress Creek Construction, and his subs did a super job! Cory and Andy matched the new with old with great skill!

The clock on the wall is the old exterior wall.

Mud Room... Standing in the mud room looking into the kitchen. The open doorway into the kitchen is the old exterior door.

Master Bath..speaks for itself!

John Cox, Cox Tile, and his crew did an excellent job on the tile work. Heated floors sure feel good on cold mornigns!

And the Remodel Saga Continues...

But we are getting closer! Here is the new master bath showing the beginnings of the glass block shower.

The kitchen photo shows the new cabinets in place, but not stained.

The mud room will be great! It has a floor drain for all the stuff we track in. The open doorway is the old exterior entryway.

And one recent shot of the exterior.

Rock work is progressing and looks great! Note the cedar lentils above the windows. These are from trees off the place. Cut by Don, stripped by Concho, and shaped by Cory & Andy.

Gena, Lee & Hunter Week

We all had fun with Gena, Lee, and Hunter. Mostly Hunter. At 2 years old, his personality is really showing. He loved the Guadalupe River and he doesn't mind getting dirty or kissing fish his Dad caught. All boy!!
"Yay, I did it!"

STARTING THE REMODEL/ADDITION PROJECT

First step is removing the big oak tree stump, pipe rails, and sidewalk. These few photos of the stump removal condense only about 1.5 hours of work by Mike and John Vlasek and helper Luis. We thouht it would take about a half day to get it out. These guys know what they are doing!

West view from the tree house. Note the built-in gun rest and deer aligned correctly.

The tree house is located in the tree line south of the back field.

More tree house views....
Jeannie, don't fall off any ladders!

The Tree House!

For Hunter and other young kids ages 2 to 75. Makes a good deer blind, too....

A few Axis Deer photos....

We are inundated with Axis Deer. One afternoon while sitting in what we call the sun room, sipping on a glass of wine and toying with the camera, this Axis buck fight erupted out of nowhere. Pictures are kind of fuzzy but you get the idea!

The Dock and Raft in the Guadalupe River

This is the first blog post ...getting the hang of it so bear with me!

Here is the dock on the banks of the Guadalupe River. Also the "raft" that we anchor in the River each year. Gotta be sure it is far enough out to catch some rays or the ladies get mad! This year, Sean Burchell and his son Seth, along with their Boy Scout Troop # __ helped put the raft in. Various technical difficulties and equipment failures were solved by members of the Boy Scout troop - thanks guys!
